Updates
We’re Back!
After a summer hiatus, we are back! With great weather comes the opportunity
to be extremely busy with painting projects, both inside and out. Sewer and
water line repairs are constant due to the aging pipelines. Gutter
replacements on six buildings have been ongoing as we prepare for inclement
weather to come. Some sidewalk repairs have been needed at 5 residences so
the residents can move around safely. The maintenance crews, along with
much-appreciated volunteers, have made a noticeable difference in the
grounds. Several units, including the Dining Hall, have new roofs, with new
water heaters and flooring installed as necessary. All smoke and carbon
monoxide detectors, along with the fire extinguishers have been updated.

About Us
Get Involved
There are several ways you can get involved in our mission. Many dedicated church workers and missionaries are retiring with limited means and in need of a safe place to live. Most residents co
uld not afford to be here without the compassion of those who give to support the Village.
Join our Committies
Several committees have been established for both the Children’s Ranch and the Retirement Village. Anyone who is interested can serve on a committee with our sincere appreciation.
Our OPEN Board meetings are held every other month on the second Thursday at 6 pm in the Dining Hall. Our next meeting will be held on November 14, 2019 where each of the
committees will be presenting their progress.

Serve with Us
We are all working at maximum capacity and urgently need others to join in!
We have openings (paid positions) on our kitchen and grounds staff. Please call for an application and interview.
Look into your heart and make time to come here and serve. It will bring you and the residents so much joy!
Additionally, your faithful monthly giving is crucial to the work that God has given us to do.

Parting with Friends
Patricia Rocks
Patricia Rocks, wife of Michael Rocks, Administrator at The Village, went home to be with our Lord on October 12, 2019.
A gifted teacher and a teacher of teachers, she has been God’s hand extended to thousands as well as a mother and sister in the Lord to all.
A faithful wife of 54 years and co-laborer in ministry in Oregon, California, Arizona, short-term missions in France and England and missionary for 4-1/2 years in South Korea.
We will miss her gentle, glorious spirit. At her request, there will be no service.

Welcoming New Friends
Connie
We just became home to Connie, a missionary retiring from 5 years in South Africa and Zimbabwe as well as several places in the US. Since her arrival, Connie has found several ministry opportunities and jumped in with both feet!
One of those opportunities is producing our newsletter and working with K to 3rd grade children at Eagle Christian Church.

Meeting our Residents
The Butlers
Chuck and Fay Butler moved to The Village on July 2, 2015 after retiring from 40 years of ministry. He is a graduate of Multnomah Bible College in Portland, Oregon and Cole Center for Biblical Studies in Boise, Idaho. He pastored churches in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Their last church was Fairfield Community Church in Fairfield, ID where they ministered for over 17 years.
The couple enjoy fly fishing as their favorite pastime. They have a son in Boise and daughter and husband in Virginia. They appreciate the Village’s ministry to them and other senior residents. “What a wonderful place to live out our later years. We want to thank all of you who support the Village.”
(They continue to minister at Cole Community Church as Senior Care and Keenagers Pastor.)
